Below are notes that provide some insight into the development of the system.
- I was able to find a large data source for IBJJF matches. I have imported from 2018 onward. Older data is available, but due to the age, I left it out.
- Similarly, for NoGi competitors, while there is less data available, when it was from before 2018, it was also not included.
- I did not include white belt or blue belt IBJJF data. To keep the site focused and improve speeds, lower belt divisions were excluded. If there is interest in them, let me know, and I can perhaps set it up separately.
- Pee-Wee, Mighty-Mite, Juvenile, and Junior classes were also removed for the same reason.
- Recent matches carry more weight than older matches. A lot of wins in the past result in less of a point increase than a lot of wins this year.
- Currently, the scoring method does not heavily factor in large point differences and/or the length of the match, as not everyone’s goal is to finish fast or by a large point difference. I may play with adjustments to these once everything else is stable.
