Welcome to the Grappler Index, an independent ranking site for grappling competitions.
This site was inspired by a recent episode of the El Segundo podcast with Craig Jones, where Keenan Cornelius suggested that it would be nice to have a jiu-jitsu/grappling rating score from an independent view, using the Elo methodology, as seen in other head-to-head competitive sports such as chess.
Our ranking does not just consider wins and losses but the type of win, the opponent’s skill, how active the competitor has been, and more. It also encompasses all promotions and competition types, not just one specific promotion or event type.
We are currently in early, “alpha” stages. You can get a peak at what the system does. However, please realize it is being developed as you read this. Another critical challenge right now is data availability and data quality. Rankings shown will only reflect the data loaded into our system and may not be accurate due to limited data for any given competitor.
